Frosty Fun

There’s SNOW place like Mt. Carmel Community for FROSTY FUN in January! The 1950s song “Frosty the Snowman” tells us about a “jolly happy” snowman who comes to life and enjoys a fun-filled winter day with a group of school children. Despite January’s cold temperatures, we are determined to bring your winter days to life with various jolly and happy activities. Don’t be left out in the cold when it comes to gathering with your friends for some exciting winter games and events. You may find that your presence at our activities will have a snowball effect that encourages others to join in! Our Monday morning Wheel of Fortune games will feature word puzzles based on themes like “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” Snow words and phrases, Snowmen, and Winter songs. You’ll enjoy playing winter weather Bingo games on festive FROST, WINTR, SNOWY, and Frosty the Snowman cards. Our Wednesday crafts and movies will also emphasize our Frosty Fun theme! Join us for a little friendly competition at our Snowman Beanbag Toss, throw snowballs with Hospice Home Care, and race around the facility to be the first to find all the snowman parts at our Build a Snowman Scavenger Hunt. You’ll have even more Frosty fun when you take aim at our snowman targets while playing Frosty Nerf Gun Fun. See if you can score a strike at Snowman Bowling and bounce Ping Pong Snowballs into numbered cups for points at our Ping Pong Snowball Toss! We hope you will help us kick off the new year by joining us at our daily activities.

Dashing Through The Snow

If you are searching for a way to manage your feelings of restlessness due to winter weather and cabin fever, we encourage you to sign up for our January outings! Join us for our Walmart Shopping Trip on Friday morning, January 19. We’ll have two Out-to-Lunch trips this month: the first is to Firehouse Subs on Friday, the 26th, followed by a trip to David’s Burgers on Monday, the 29th. Good food and heart-warming fellowship are always abundant when we go out to lunch!

Snowball Social

Please make plans to chill out with us at our Snowball Social on Friday, January 19. We’ll gather in the Main Dining Room at 1:30 to enjoy Hostess Snowball Cakes and hot chocolate. We’ll reminisce about the snowiest places we’ve ever lived, snowman-building fun, epic snowball fights, and sledding adventures! While you are here, be sure to visit our photo booth, where you’ll find a selection of snowman fashion items to try on for your very own snowman selfie!

New for the New Year

The Chosen

You are invited to join us in the Mt. Carmel Theater each Sunday afternoon at 1:00 for an episode of The Chosen. The series centers on the life and ministry of Jesus and the people who met, followed, and interacted with Him. You will be inspired as each episode of The Chosen brings the New Testament to life right before your eyes.

Sit & Stretch

We have recently included several new fitness opportunities in our weekday morning schedule. This month, new for the new year, we’ll introduce Sit & Stretch. This class will meet on Fridays at 9:15 in the 200 Hall Fitness Room. Studies have shown that simple stretches improve and help us maintain our flexibility. Additional positive results that come from stretching include decreased pain, improved physical fitness, and better mobility. We want to encourage you to try Sit & Stretch and all of our fitness activities in the coming new year.
